The Department of Otorhinolaryngology has a phenomenal growth in the out-patient attendance during the past several years .The Outpatient Department as well as the Operating theatres are fully equipped with all modern and technologically advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. The Department functions in collaboration with allied specilities of MES Medical College Hospital such as General Surgery, Endocrine Surgery,Neurosurgery, Thorasic Surgery,Ophthalmology and surgical Oncology (head and neck) departments.

Features

The Department looks after problems of the ears,nose and throat. This will include problems I n hearing and deafness,ringing in the ears,vertigo (dizziness),noses that are very stuffy or nunny all the time, tonsil problems, cancers of the ENT areas,etc.

Special tests and treatments

Endoscopy: A Voice clinic also functions in the OP department. The services of a speech therapist is available and treatment is planned for the patients.

Audiovestibular section: The audio-vestibular section looks at problems of hearing (audio) and balance(vestibular). The unit does special tests and plans rehabilitation programmes.

Diagnostic services: Our diagnostic services/tests include Pure tone audiometry, and Brainstem evoked response audiometry (BERA) .
