Department of Radio Diagnosis

The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is rich with a highly professional team with expertise and high-quality machines.
The department is headed by Dr. G. G. Sathi MD (Radiology), former-HOD (Radiology), Govt. Medical College, Calicut.
Our facilities include a Multi-slice CT Scanner, which provides whole body scanning with reformatted images and 3D volume-rendering to facilitate accurate diagnosis. CT-guided interventional procedures are also routinely conducted in our department.
Mammography unit provides specially tailored X-ray exposure as per individual basis, and aids in early detection of breast cancer.
We also have two fully-functional Ultrasonography units with Colour Doppler (one of which also has 4D-ultrasound facility) which are used for routine sonographic assessment, including assessment of foetal congenital anomalies; along with special applications including Doppler studies for vascular structures, neurosonography, musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided interventional techniques.
Computerized Radiography & Digital Fluoroscopy facilities provide high-quality images in digital format which may be transferred seamlessly and reviewed later.
For routine use, we have three X-ray machines, six portable X-ray units and two C-arm machine.
Teleradiology facility is in routine use in our department, so that emergency cases are promptly attended to.
