The department is providing regular services in multiple fields including minimally invasive surgery, hepato-bilary and pancreatic sugery,thorascic and thoracoscopic surgeries, endocrine and breast surgery,vascular surgery and cancer suragery.

The department has four surgical units . The department provides emergency care for traumatic and non-traumatic emergencies round the clock.

General Surgeries as well as Laproscopic surgeries are done in stainless-walled Operation theatres. A well-equipped Surgical ICU caters to the need of post operative patients.

The department also gives special stress on imparting quality Undergraduate medical education in surgery.Theory classes and case discussion sessions for the students are held regularly and they are given opportunities to watch surgeries . They are taught good patient care and management .
